Welcome to da Vinci School, an alternative public school within the Toronto Distric School Board. This is a new school that opened September 2009. The school goes from JK- Grade 6. We are located on the third floor of Lord Lansdowne Public School at 33 Robert Street, near College and Spadina.
The approach of the da Vinci school is inspired by Waldorf education and follows many of the teachings of Rudolf Steiner. We follow the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, teaching through narrative with a focus on art, music, and nature. We use a thematic approach so children learn through themes like Stewards of the Earth, Textiles, Global Celebrations.
“Our highest endeavor must be to develop free human beings who are able of themselves to impart purpose and direction to their lives.”
